Lex will run great with Windows 3.x or Windows 95. However, it must be run in the Full-Screen usage and not as a small window on the desktop. While the LEX program is running, you can toggle between a window and a full screen by pressing ALT+ENTER.

When printing on HP LaserJet printers (and compatibles), most HP DeskJets, and certain specialized dot matrix printers, you must download the LEX font(s) to the printer before printing a document. The font(s) will remain in the printer until you turn it off, so the download procedure need only be done once per session. Here follows a brief example for LaserJets and DeskJets:
From the editor type ALT-P (which takes you to the print screen), F (which is the Font download command), P (for the Pica font), <ENTER>.

While in the editor, press the F1 function key.
